The relocation of a fire door from the garage was necessary to have a grand entrance feeling when you entered this master piece.
We created a slate tiled entryway that had a bench style locker area with cubbies and coat hooks for each of the children.
Load bearing posts were concealed using “Moose Mountain” stone fascia at the base capped with raised-panel alder panels terminating to drywall arches that allowed maximum ceiling height and not drawing attention to the unmovable obstacles (duck work and “I” beams).
A custom raised-panel alder bar was constructed and matched the coffered ceiling directly above. The back bar has a dedicated wine area with stemware slides and is adjacent to the matching stone fascia backsplash. A polished granite bar top with under-mount stainless steel sink matches the brushed nickel gooseneck bar faucet.
A United States Military Wall-of-Honor was created and housed five “galaxy black” niches that were laser etched and installed above the matching display shelving.
A custom “floor to ceiling” bookcase/gaming cabinet was constructed that serves multiple functions. It is a hidden oversized doorway that allows entry to the mechanical room!!
Engineered hardwood flooring was installed surrounding the bar that gave it a true “cozy” bar feeling.
A luxurious bathroom including custom Alder vanity with matching fluting, granite top, undermount “Kohler “ sink, slate tile flooring, and a “Kohler” neo-angle shower is located umamrjust steps away from a crafting room and that seconds as a guest bedroom. A reclaimed “Corian” crafting countertop folds in to the wall when the guests arrive. An easy-to-open Murphy-bed was constructed and it folds tight to the wall when not in use.
An awesome walk-in-pantry is located adjacent to the main stairway and allows for extra food storage on maintenance free melamine shelving.
A combination of recessed canister lighting, multi-directional recessed canister lights, low profile fixtures and LED lighting are all dimmable and illuminate this one-of-a-kind lower level.
