CotY ~ Union Grove Bath

The objective was to turn this outdated impractical bathroom in to a luxurious master bathroom resembling a spa.

A complete gut was required and 2 walls were relocated to allow us the space needed to accomplish this masterpiece. Plumbing was re-routed to accommodate a custom crafted oak vanity capped with an elegant granite top and his-and-hers, “Royal Cobble” marble sinks, the shower, and a whirlpool tub.

A tub deck was constructed to house the new Kohler “Tea for Two” drop-in “Spa-Massaging” whirlpool. Travertine tile was installed on the new tub deck and the backsplash above the vanity. Niches were constructed and installed for accent candles and to house a 42” TV. A new 6’ bay window was installed adjacent to the new tub deck, replacing 3-drafty double-hung windows.

A thermostatically controlled heated porcelain tile floor was installed throughout the bathroom. New brushed nickel Kohler Forte roman faucets with matching trim kits, matching tub spout, and a matching sprayer was installed.

A new tile walk-in shower was constructed and tiled using matching travertine and porcelain. A travertine bench was installed in the corner with matching shampoo alcoves. A half-wall was constructed and capped with polished granite top and a Mirropane “one way mirror” that allows privacy while showering, yet gives the person showering the ability to see in to the rest of the bathroom. Brushed nickel Kohler Invigorating Massaging Sprayers, a hand-held sprayer with adjustable slide bar, and a “rain-style” shower head was installed.

A “rain” style glass privacy wall rests atop of the tub deck shielding the new Kohler toilet from plain view.

Lighting consisted of recessed canister lights with diffusers, a fan/light combination, and brushed nickel pendant lights.

An “open-concept“ linen alcove made great use of otherwise wasted space above the adjacent stairwell.
