The layout of the kitchen was changed from a traditional U-shaped to an L-shape with an island. An “arts & crafts” style bench was constructed and became a permanent seating area, matching the woodwork in the rest of the house.
An under counter microwave was tucked into the island, freeing up space above the range for a custom range hood. Custom cherry wood cabinetry was installed extending to the ceiling, maximizing storage space and housing functional luxuries such as a appliance garage, pot and pan pull-outs, full extension/soft close drawer slides, cookbook shelving, a wine rack, and a tilt out sponge tray. A message center/cell phone charging station and boot bench also was constructed to match.
Granite countertops accent the subway tile backsplash that span the base and upper cabinetry. Hand painted accent tiles were installed adjacent to the new cooking station.
A brushed Hans-Grohe faucet, pot filler, and air gap all match the new appliances in finish.
Pendant lights, recessed canister lights, and LED’s all on dimmer switches, accent the new 3 1/4″ cherry wood flooring and custom base trim.
