WRA, Silver ~ Delafield, Kitchen

The owner of this 1970’s home wanted a clean look with an edgy design, but not overly contemporary.

The “above-cabinet” soffits were removed and staggered height and depth cherry-wood cabinetry was installed to add visual interest. An in cabinet double oven, a warming-drawer, and convection microwave was installed freeing up space above the new cook-top for a fully functional custom drywall range hood.

With ergonomics in mind, a wrap around “double -tier” island was constructed, concealing the prep station from the dining area. A matching granite under-mount double basin sink and a vegetable sink was installed with modern Moen brush nickel faucets.

A “matching-in-shape” soffit was constructed to mirror the island with cherry crown molding matching the upper cabinetry.

New recessed canister lights, led under-cabinet task lighting, and pendant lights were installed, replacing the single fluorescent light fixture, illuminating this kitchen even on the darkest of nights.

A travertine tile backsplash with a decorative diagonal pattern was installed accenting the diamond shapes in the leaded glass display doors that were installed in the upper cabinets. Granite countertops were installed that accent the colors in the new oak “tongue and groove” flooring that welcomes you in to this new masterpiece.
