WRA, Gold ~ Racine, Lower Level

The objective was to turn this unused lower level in to additional gathering space for family and friends including; a large entertainment area with a “one-of-a kind” bar, fireplace, media room, music lounge, dance floor, bathroom with walk-in shower, and bedroom for the occasional overnight guest.

Stacked stone arches were constructed and frame the openings to this new gathering area.

A custom cherry-wood bar with a polished granite top was constructed that houses a stainless steel under-mount sink, matching gooseneck faucet, and under-bar refrigerator. A soffit mirroring the bar in shape, style, and color was installed with pendant lighting suspended from the ceiling. Decorative wrought iron French-doors allowed visual elegance to the climate controlled, stacked stone wine cellar. A porcelain tile floor with a crushed stone decorative medallion and engineered flooring was installed to enhance the areas rich look, yet allow the in-floor heating to radiate the room.

A gas direct vent fireplace equipped with a stacked stone fascia and a cherry mantle with corbels that match the bar was installed.

Cherry-wood panels with a micro-fiber “suede-like” material were created for the walls in the media room and compliment the matching coffered ceiling. Custom cabinetry was created and installed in the music lounge, matching the rest of the lower level. Gigantic pocket-doors were crafted and are used to separate the media room from the rest of the masterpiece when a true “theater-like” experience is desired.

A guest bedroom is only steps away from the new luxurious bathroom, including custom vanity with a travertine top, under-mount Kohler sink, a walk-in porcelain tile shower with a corner bench seat and a semi-frameless shower door.

A combination of recessed canister lighting, multi-directional recessed canister lights, pendant lights, wall sconces, and LED’s illuminate this utopia.
